After watching some fabulous designs on Lakme Fashion Week 2018, we got out trend-spotting team ready to figure out which are the latest party wear sarees trends you shouldn’t live without.
Here’s what they found!
- Sarees with flared sleeves are IN!
Fashion is so confusing. Isn’t it? There are so many parts of an outfit that we need to style. One of the major concern women have is with the sleeves. Have you ever picked up a gorgeous designer saree with a fancy blouse but ended with no idea about what to do with the sleeves? Worry no more!
Ask your tailor to put in some flares on the sleeves or make them baggy. The look would suit best if you pick up a blouse with sleeves made of a see-through material like chiffon or net.
It’s a great look for petite women and is currently really hot in bollywood.
2. The sexy black saree is the answer to “What should I wear today?”
Latest party wear sarees may have a lot of new trends but the one which is making a comeback is the trend of sexy black sarees. Did it ever go out of style?
Ouch! Did you eat too many sweets this winter? Are you the one looking for hiding away those bulges without working out? This trend is the answer.
Pick a sexy black saree and it will look great on you because of the magical properties of the black color that make you look thin. We have some more tips on how to look slim in a saree as well.
3. Solid colors are cool
Are you confused about the styles that will rock in summer 2018? We have an answer for you! The solid colors will work fantastically. And luckily there are two options!
Either you can pick up solid dark colors like royal blue, deep purple or pick plain off-white color. Both are appealing options and will really satiate your hunger for compliments on your fashion choice.
Bonus Tip: If you’re going for embroidery, pick solid dark colors. Pick off-white when wearing a solid-colored saree that you plan to accessorize to get the party look.
4. No more half sarees
Do you love half sarees? We have a bad news for you. Latest party wear sarees are being dominated by sarees in one color. The embroidery is also confined to single color. Good luck with finding such designs for currently, the fashion space seems to be churning out totally different designs. But it’s about to change!
5. Minimal embroidery and motifs
When it’s about embroidery, there’s no doubt that Indian women go overboard. But 2018 isn’t the time to do that. In 2018, pick smaller motifs with subtle embroidery. Instead of big patches of embroidery confined to one section of the fabric ,for example on the neck part of the blouse, prefer the ones that have embroidery all over them but in a very subtle and minimal thread work.
6. Self-weaving work is on the rise
Take out those old sarees you tucked in a corner just because they didn’t have the embroidery Mrs. Sharma’s sarees usually have. Latest party wear sarees are going to be dominated by self-weaved sarees. The Banarasi sarees will obviously rock the biggest occasions while other options will take over the party space. Who’s excited?
7. Block print and stripes – YES
Even though solid colored, plain sarees are going to rock this season, there are a few options for those who may not like the style. For printed sarees, pick up block prints. The traditional Bandhej printed sarees will also be a good option.
Or go for stripes. They’re hot.
Bonus tip: If you’re plump, don’t pick horizontal stripes as they will make you look broader.
8. Khadi is THE fabric of the season
The overall trend in Indian ethnic wear space is for khadi and handloom. The khadi is dominating the space in both men’s and women’s wear. And it’s not true only for latest party wear sarees but also for suits and even lehengas. Grab some khadi now!
